HPCED is also a support centre for the Chief Minister’s Startup Scheme, assisting startups with mentorship, training, funding access, and marketing support. It collaborates with premier institutions like IITs and IIMs to deliver high-quality entrepreneurial education and facilitates exposure visits for startups to leading innovation hubs across India and abroad
About HPCED

The Himachal Pradesh Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (HPCED) was established in 1996-97 at Parwanoo, District Solan, under the 8th Plan initiative of the Government of India. Its primary aim is to train educated unemployed youth for self-employment and promote industrial development in the state. HPCED operates as a non-profit organization, registered under the Societies Act, 1860, and serves as the nodal agency for entrepreneurship-related activities in Himachal Pradesh.
Objectives of HPCED
- Identify and motivate potential entrepreneurs to establish small-scale and service-based industries.
- Provide structured training programs to equip entrepreneurs with technical and managerial skills.
- Enhance employment opportunities by offering skill development initiatives to diverse groups, including women, ex-servicemen, and marginalized communities.
